To help states better align their goals and activities with various national public health priorities and indicators, the GW Cancer Center created a State Cancer Plans Priority Alignment Tool that summarizes top priorities and can be used as a guide for goal setting at the state and local levels. Programs and coalitions who use this tool can expect to:

  • Gain a better understanding of current national public health priorities;
  • Critically assess the state cancer plan and activities to determine strengths and opportunities for improvement; and
  • Review sample goals, objectives and potential indicators for inclusion in the revised plan.
